- Managed and directed company-wide product purchasing activities, through team of Product Managers, to increase inventory by one full turn while improving order fill by 20%.
- Configured and implemented systems, including WMS and ERP software while reducing operational cost and improving customer service.
Distribution Manager ~ Mississauga, ON Canada 2001-2004
Directed day to day operation within a 120,000sq ft distribution center. Managed staff of 100+ unionized workers in a three shift operation, including clerical staff and supervisors to ensure timely deliveries and customer service.
- Negotiated agreement between Company and the Union with 0% increase in first year, one of the companys best agreements in prior 10 years (1992-2002).
- Recommended inventory by product line and sku, using a kanban replenishment or JIT system to reduce the overall needed inventory at any given time.
- Participated on Canadian Transportation/Traffic council for the selection of carriers and carried out decisions for transportation (TL, LTL, courier and express) to reduce overall transportation cost by 10%.
- Through the use of kaizen blitz and other process improvement techniques and means, reduced operation cost by more than 1% of sales.
